Community Impact CCTV

« back

Project Summary:
To reduce vehicle, violent and burglary related crime by the installation of a relocatable Street Hawk CCTV camera system in 'hotspot' areas. The camera can be relocated to any one of the 10 existing mounting poles in the priority neighbourhood area and will link up to the CCTV control room.

A significant percentage of these crimes occur in Regent Ward and a small area bounded by Nelson Road Central, Trafagar Road, Apsley Road and Regent Road, all outside of the main CCTV camera locations.

The effects of the camera will be monitored and compared with recorded crime levels before the camera came into use.
