Project Summary:
The appointment of a full time Crime Reduction Officer to support the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership by linking together the agencies involved in reducing Crime and Disorder and, in particular, to address the local issues relating to the fear of crime.

The post holder?s role is to motivate, supervise and provide cohesive support, in particular relating to external and partnership funding opportunities. It is expected that this will result in a more structured response to Crime and Disorder issues that will result in a reduction in Crime and Disorder and fear of crime.

02-03 update
The Crime Reduction Officer has been instrumental in liaising with the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and monitoring funding from NRF and the Home Office. She undertood a review of Local Strategic Arrangements for crime reduction and implemented 'audit to action' (ensuring strategies are based on data), both of which fed into the Crime Reduction Strategy.
