South Yarmouth Priority Neighbourhood is known as Middle Layer SOA "Great Yarmouth-006"
It is co-terminous with the new NELSON WARD
It comrises 5x Lower Layer SOA's
Most of the area was in receipt of SRB Round 2 funding of £8.7 million between 1995 and 2002
The area has the highest levels of deprivation in the Borough as measured by the IMD 2004
The whole of the area forms the major part of the Neighbourhood Management Scheme area
The land along the riverside forms part of the area which the Urban Regeneration Company 1st East waterfront regeration co is seeking to help regenerate
The outer harbour EASTPORT will be built on the seaward side of the peninsula
The area is also one piloting the Safer Communities Team (ie Neighbourhood Policing) approach to Policing
The area also forms part of the Neighbourhood Management programme being funded by the Neighbourhood Element of the Safer & Stronger Communities Fund (SSCF)
